The Institute of Slovene Ethnology of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences was the initiator and the main implementer of the project Slovene Ethnological Lexicon (2004).The series ('efka - works of ethnology, folklore studies and cultural anthropology') builds on and fills the need for more thorough and transparent works presenting the research themes of the above-mentioned disciplines. On the one hand, the booklets summarise their fundamental findings, while on the other hand, the presentations open up questions, directions and spaces for new research. The basic scheme of the works includes a definition of terms, a historiography, an overview of research at home and abroad, a description of the state of the art, examples and research questions.
