The Culturality project aims to promote and foster the development of rural and remote areas through cultural tourism activities, taking into account their endogenous potential and exploring their rich cultural heritage as a basis for the development of new business models. It supports the creation of new jobs and exploits the potential of these areas, in particular their tangible and intangible heritage and craft traditions. The project brings together 13 organisations from 9 countries and different fields. This provides a comprehensive understanding of the current social, cultural, economic and environmental challenges of rural and remote areas. They will engage in raising awareness of the potential of cultural tourism and support local communities as agents of change.
The objectives of the project are:
- to establish a cooperation network to promote cultural tourism in rural and remote areas through crafts and skills
- revitalisation and economic development of local ecosystems through research on cultural tourism linked to crafts
- the use of digital tools and technologies as a key platform to increase productivity, visibility and impact
- to develop appropriate tools for stakeholder involvement and cooperation
- to promote knowledge sharing and contribute to increased capacity and mutual learning of local ecosystems as agents of change
