GO(ODBYE) 2025!

What are the accomplishments and the enduring impact of the European Capital of Culture project in Nova Gorica and Gorizia? The event, envisioned as a glimpse into the future, aimed to leave a lasting mark on the urban landscape and the awareness of the local population. But did the ECOC manage to transform the way residents perceive their city, communal areas, and the intercultural interactions on both sides of the border? What type of future have we constructed, and how committed are we to this vision? What kind of future do we definitely not want? What opportunities exist to further and enhance the collaboration that was initiated by the ECOC? And what does the future hold for the project at the European level, four decades after its establishment? 

These questions will be addressed by Jaro Veselinovič, Neda Rusjan Bric, the artistic director and initiator of the GO! 2025 project, and Mattijs Maussen, an expert in European cultural policies and co-author of a white paper on the project's future, published on the 40th anniversary of the ECOC's launch.

The introductory speeches will be in Slovenian and Italian and simultaneously interpreted into both languages; the main discussion will be in English.
